Snakes,birds, and grasshoppers, oh my!

Today we went on a nature walk!My mom, sister and I walked down a side road and looked at all the different animals. There were little butterflys with about 1 centimeter wide that were flying around. Tons of grasshoppers were leaping around too.Well I know you are waiting for the snake story. Here it is. I was walking in the side of the trail trying not to get red mud on my shoes. I had just stepped on a piece of "electrical wire" when suddenly the electrical wire moved and made a sound. I turned around to see what had happened. It was a snake!! I said shakily " Uh, mom, I think I just stepped on a snake." She turned and looked at the beady eyed snake, flicking its tongue back and forth. I wasn't scared, just happy that I saw a snake. Mom wouldn't let me keep it or touch it because she was afraid it might be poisonous. When we got home we found that it was a garter snake. Those are not poisonous luckily. Our neighbor, Mr.Bob, then gave us a bird feeder. So far the only birds that have come our bird feeder is the same two finches. Oh well.
This morning I saw the biggest grasshopper ever! It was 3 inches long and could fly!
That is about all the Nature News I have got!

Homeschooling ROCKS! #2

So, we are back! Lets start back at the reasons why homeschooling's fun!
One of my favorite subjects is history! The Mystery of History series has done wonders for me! You can make salt dough maps, dioramas, do quizzes and still learn a lot! A salt dough map is pictured on the right.
Field trips are a really fun way to learn! We have been so many places. It helps if you have joined a homeschool Co-op though. That is where I have done a lot of my field trips. I have been to the Boeing plane museum with my Co-op, and it was awesome! There were tons of planes from different time periods! We also have been to history museums and even a radio station! I hope this has shown you how homeschooling rocks!

Homeschooling ROCKS! #1

Homeschooling is awesome! You have so many more options and things you can do. Here is some ways.
You can do school with your little sister there! Livia and I can do school together even though we are in different age ranges
. Also I get to teach her sometimes if mom is busy, and I can play with her!
Mom and I also do fun projects. One of our recent ones is mummifying an apple! Livia and I sometimes though create our own projects, much to mom's dismay. :) Mom also finds me fun games, and movies that help make hard subjects like math fun!
See part 2 of this series!
